The Vintage Party Line

Ah! I can't believe it's winter already, and Christmas is just around the corner! Since last blog entry, I've decided to do a complete turnaround career-wise. I'm moving from the high-paying,fast-past medical field to become a preschool teacher. HUGE pay cut,but so much more fulfilling for me in the long run. My husband fully supports me in this, even though it means we will be living below the poverty line for awhile. Bless his heart, I love him so much! Things will get better next year, I know it. So in between jobs, I've become a bit of a vintage housewife. Many modern women would disagree with this choice, but I find that it's a much-needed break from the stressful, overtime shifts that I'm used to. And like I said, (my hubby) JD's there to support me in everything. So anyways, back to the vintage housewifery! I'm talking to my grandma quite often lately, to get tips and tricks on how to keep a good house. Being a working stiff for so long, I really didn't know much. Our home looked like a college party house! Also, there's an interesting site that I visited, called retro-housewife.com . It's a feminist's nighmare, but a newlywed's dream...I've learned so much from it. I've learned that you can be educated, and a good homemaker at the same time, and that it's not a bad thing as long as you've got the proper support system within your marriage. JD says that whatever's meant to be, will be...he even told me that he had hoped it would be him that would've become the homemaker! Who knows? We've got a lifetime to try things out...
